When working working with Corporate event clients to plan annual board meetings, we always love to find ways to help our brands stand out from the crowd and ensure it is an itinerary that cultivates lasting memories and productive conversation. Often when getting at Board together for an annual convening, the meeting portion of it only takes a half day which leaves extra time to entertain your constituents and make a lasting impression. It's a great opportunity to show your appreciation for their time and commitment to the business and deepen the connection between them and the brand.
Here are some of our favorite Boston activities that make great additions to any Board Meeting here in Beantown:
Boston Harbor Cruise
Enjoy a Harbor Cruise in Boston’s Seaport and enjoy some great views of the city. Choose the 2-3 hour Premier Dinner Cruise complete with a 3-course plated dinner and DJ or choose the 2-3 hour Signature Dinner Cruise which includes a buffet and DJ. There really isn’t anything quite like relaxing on a boat with views of Boston lights at the end of a busy day. After the cruise head back to your hotel and enjoy some drinks and desserts to end the night.
Boston's Flight Club
After your meetings finish up for the day, spend a night out at Boston’s Flight Club to play “Social Darts” while enjoying some drinks and appetizers. It's always an added bonus having an activity while people drink and eat. After playing darts head over to hot spot, Lolita Cocina & Tequila Bar, an 8 minute walk, to savor some Mexican-inspired eats in a Gothic glow lounge atmosphere.
Boston Ghost Tour
For an adventurous group, head to the Boston Common to take an 8pm Boston Ghost Tour. On the tour you will learn about some of the city’s haunted history and get a first-hand look at it's most historic spots. Some sites include Omni Parker House, Granary Burying Ground, and the State House. Once the tour concludes, take a visit to Bova Bakery to enjoy a Boston Cream Pie.
Cooking Class
Sometimes after a long day, cooking can be relaxing and a great way to slow down. Head over to 19 Kingston St. Boston for a Cooking Class. Some favorite offerings of theirs include an Italian Dinner with Tiramisu Finale or a French Bistro Class. Enjoy a fabulous evening making food with Chef John Peredina and then sit down together and enjoy your creations. These classes are only available on Fridays.
Citizens Bank Opera House
Boston offers many performing arts options, but favorite of our is the Citizens Bank Opera House, a 5 minute walk away, to see a musical show in Boston’s Theater District. Check and see what's playin in town to see some world cass talent ranging from theater, dance, music, comedy and more.
Fenway Park
Fenway Park is a Boston staple. No matter what time of year you come to Boston, there's a way you can enjoy the park. Of course hopping over to see a Red Sox game is a favorite, but during the Summer they also have a variety of concerts. During the Winter they often feature hockey games with local and national leagues. Or any time of the year, you can take a tour and see the behind the scenes workings of the iconic venue.
Duck Boat Tour
Another Boston favorite, Duck Tours are great at any age. If you have a group that is new to the city, it's a unique and fun way to to see the city by land and by sea. They leave from multiple locations throughout the city, so likely there is one close by to your meeting spot.
BONUS: Day Trip to Provincetown
If you end up having an extra day, mix it up with a day trip outside of Boston to Provincetown. The ferry from Boston to Provincetown is about 90 minutes and gives great views of Cape Cod. Once you arrive, spend some time walking down Commercial Street to do some window shopping and snacking. Local excursion options include sailing around the Provincetown Harbor or whale watching. There are a handful of trip durations to pick from. After your time on the water has concluded, take a 30 minute drive to Eastham for a dinner party with a private chef! Experience a fantastic home cooked meal and a sunset view. Catch the ferry back to Boston to end the night.
